Can You Hear My Tears?

Can You Hear My Tears?

You're home, Sassy.
You're back home now.
Home, where you belong.
They called,
and I went and picked you up.
Such a tiny box
for something that took up,
and still takes up,
so much room in my heart.
The old saying is that
good things come in small packages, though.
It's a pretty box,
temporary, until your urn comes in.
Then I will move you to that one.
Meanwhile I have you here with me.
When I held you again,
did you feel me holding you?
Could you feel my hand as I placed it on the box?
Could you hear my voice as I talked to you?
Could you see my face?
Can you feel my love?
Could you hear my tears?

You're back with me now,
and that is such a beautiful thing,
and nothing will ever separate us again.
When I go, you will go with me into my box -
nothing will ever separate us again.

I love you, Sassy...
Can you hear my tears?
