Broken Beads - More Freedom

broken mala beads -
a well worn string of spheres -
a gift from he, who now lives
in the apple valley
in the foothills of the largest mountains
in another continent
so unimaginably far away -

he, who wakes up to the cleanest air
and breathes in fresh freedom -
he sips delicious coffee outdoors,
dew dropped grasses, tickling his feet,
as he gazes with inner smiles at the views -

my fingers caressed the 108 beads
when i did meditate over the years,
when i did experience a calm that
released my self from the feelings of
abandonment and anger and envy of his
much desired freedom -

a gift that freed me from negative thoughts
of him, and transported me to a world of
landscapes of mandalas of the most dazzling colours
and to inner wanderings of crystal silences -

some beads fell off over the years and the string grew shorter,
i kept the necklace for many years
and finally let it go -
the detachment was almost complete -
