This, Then, I Must Endure....

I awoke again this morning.
I tried to return to the silent,
to the darkness,
but I awoke again.
Finally I arose.
And it is the same.
It is always the same.
It has been for many years -
too long a time to count.
This, then I must endure.
It is the bill I am handed
for daring to get older.
Everything has a price,
everything has a value,
everything takes its toll.
I will continue as I am,
I will endure it as it is,
Presently....
I have no other option.
