Time Slides And Twists
Author: Pondering Red
Hello, my long ago friend and partner,
how are you doing on this fine june morning,
so many decades later -
so many thousands of miles away
in another continent, another world ?
Time is funny, time travels
and we must be dreaming
time slithers, teases, overwhelms
and our past times are but memories,
surreal, almost unreal dreaming sequences -
Was that me ?
Was that you ?
Every second and in between the seconds
time slides here and there,
up and down,
around and around,
backwards and forwards
and voila -
We are here in this now time space -
yet I am here
and you are there.
Happier, settled or not,
we have grown like wild trees in
misty jungles, tangled and beautiful -
We are writers and artists,
painting our thoughts, as best we can
on canvas and food plates,
in our living spaces,
through our vision, our possibility -
Do you think about these things
and question and ponder ?
I am sure you think and meditate
and expand your mind into
many universes and dimensions
of cosmic surreal reality.
Yet our musings
travel in different directions.
You strive to stay in your eternal now
and I often dive in the deep waters
of the past as I swim forwards,
while enjoying the succulent fruits
of the present as best I can -
How are you this morning,
bending with the breezes in the warmth
of your mountain sanctuary ?
Are you where you have worked so hard to be ?
Everything slides and twists
to make other things happen.
Without your connections,
much of my twisting would never have
landed me into where I am now
and the same with you
all of our twists and turns in time
have placed you there and me here,
with millions and millions
of bubbles floating and bursting and
reappearing over and over.
And now my long lost friend,
I plod along and skip at times
have almost closed the heavy door
that lies between our two dimensions.
