Soul Travail (it's Personal)

Lord You know me
And I know me too
Matter of fact
You know me better than I do
And You knew
What I would, think, say, feel and do
Because You're the Creator

Lord, You are so real and true
And You
Are patient, merciful, just and loving
Toward such a wretch
And I stretch
Forth my hand to thee
Knowing that no other
Could deliver me

This hot mess
Expresses herself
Confessing all
And since the fall
Of man
You knew
Who would obey or disobey You
Your commandments, Your statutes
Who would fall by the wayside
Who would have roots

I am guilty by choice
So I lift my voice
And expose myself to the revealer
Such a soul healer
And I am a kneeler
But that means nothing to me nor You
Since my heart, mind and attitude
Isn't right
And that I'm not living the life
I'll just talk, pace and cry
And try not to deny
But come clean

Because Lord
I'm the pot calling the kettle black
You see me and how I act
And You're not slack
Concerning Your promises to the obedient
And a chosen one
Isn't exempt or justified by sin
I give in
By choice

So I just keep talking and steady walking
This floor
Til I am no more
Before
The consequence
Before the fact
So that
A consequence won't prompt me
To obey thee

In Jesus name
Amen
