20 Below
Author: Shiloh

1 degree.... feels like 20 below.
I am starting to think that I am part of a poem by Robert W. Service.

I will be applying to NYS to change my name to Nanook Of The North sometime next week.
Trying for a special permit with the Town of Chenango for my small herd of caribou.
They have all their shots, they're tagged, and I will not let them run -
They will be in-house caribou (caribous?) (yeah, that's it), good old "Rangifer Tarandus"
-they are quiet, intimidating, and just a wee bit territorial,
but they get along fine with my cats and the dog stays the hell away from them.
I have about a year's supply of lichens for them,
and with all the evergreens in the neighborhood,
I'm sure that no one will miss a branch here or there.
Or there. Or here...
