I detest the way folks say "Nam."
It's the same as saying a person's name
is "He" or "She."
Shorten everydamnthing down,
'cause (see?) it's easier,
or why,
I do not know or want to understand.
Another big burr under my saddle is "the Nam."
WTF is THAT?!!

It's movie shit, is all it is.
Hollywood bullshit.
I do not know of anyone in my world
that says "Nam" or "the Nam,"
and I am past secretary of the OVV –
Organization of Vietnam Veterans,
and have been involved with them since the 70s.

VIETNAM.
FRENCH INDO CHINA.
(which included at that time Laos and Cambodia)
NAM VIET; before that, around 207 BC.
(also Nam Yue, an ancient kingdom
that was today’s Northern Vietnam)
But NEVER "Nam" or "the Nam."

I also detest Hollywood and everything
it has done to us and our lives and history.
