vinebar

Let me unsee the rioting craziness
That is rammed down my throat
Let me be ignorant of the doings
of the elite and powerful
So that I may feel the peace

I do not want to know the darkness
The evil that is really around me
I want to remain dreaming
Of a better place and
And of better days

I want to be able to turn off the news
The disgusting ugliness of their fallacy
Let us little people go back to living
Let us listen to our music
and dream freely

I so pray that this is not the new norm
but each day the norm seems further
In a distance almost forgotten
I wish to turn off the World
So that I may again live
