There are moments in tme,
If we are lucky,
Where it all just seems so right;
It all comes together,
Somehow,
And the moment is so magical
That you can feel your smile
As it just gets bigger and bigger on your face.
It’s a feeling of weariness and contentment together,
Like nothing you have ever felt before,
And it is delicious.
And you never want to let it go.

Like a big old four-poster bed
With an old feather mattress
And one of them heavy quilts over everything…
You know – like the kind you would feel so very safe underneath?
And the curtains at the window billowing ever so gently in the breeze,
And you can just start to hear the raindrops as they come plodding toward the house,
And the smells on the air are some wonderful,
Just like they’re supposed to be just before it rains,
And you hope for a big rain!
So you listen to the drops,
Wanting to know how big they are,
And if you are really truly lucky,
You will hear them;
First one, then a few more together,
And then hundreds more as they gather outside the window,
Laughing and sassing and hollerin’….
Oh, they are having such a wonderful time together,
Bein’ rain, ‘cause that’s what they do….
It’s their job – bein’ rain.
And the wind…. Why it don’t hurt none at all — but…
It really does help and adds to the overall beauty of the whole time,
While you lay there on the big old feather-bed with the window letting in all the good sounds
And the happy feelings….
And you finally drift off to sleep a while,
And you don’t hear no crashes or booms or scary things like that in this rain.
No sir! None of that.
Just softness, pretty smells, gentle thoughts and safe, happy feelings.
