Mother's Day
Author: Jim Joy

The second Sunday in may is a very special day.
It's when we honor mothers across the USA
One day a year doesn't seem fair when I think of all you do.
Instead we should honor you every day of the year.
Not just the one they choose.
I only hope your children and your husbands too.
Realize how lucky they are to have someone as special as you.
Motherhood is more than childbirth, that's an act of nature.
But raising a child the way you should, that's an act of nurture
And that my dears is your gift, that we all receive.
There is nothing greater in this word than a Mothers love, you see.
The love of constant giving and caring, you're always go out flat.
Motherhood also includes the wearing of many special hats.
The hats you wear,as you become the people that we love
The hats you wear as you teach your children how & when when to evolve.
The cook, the nurse, and the Surgeon (those splinters hurt like hell)
Cab driver and Little League mom,and the great stories that you tell.
Also you're a psychic, the future is yours to see.
Add to list dryer of tearsand mender of broken dreams.
The list could go on and on of all the things you do.
But the list of things are all repaid when you hear:
Mom, I sure love you.
So savor your day, this second Sunday in May.
When we all pay homage to you.
One days not enough time to thank you.
For making each day special as only a mom could do.
So remember ladies, it's nurture not nature that makes a mother a mom.
And that's your measure of motherhood, from catastrophe to calm.
So nurture your children even if they're grown, and give them an extra hug.
Because none of us, even coldhearted people like me
Are immune from a mothers love.

Happy Mothers Day to moms everywhere.
