My Star
4 February, 2003
Author: Jim McClean

Though I have no means nor power,
I see my star in the Heavens.
Hurtling,
Frantically searching for its final resting place.
Like it I shine,
Seeking my home
I doubt I will get there,
Through no fault of my own
I blame convenient destiny.
In the distance there is laughter
Yet I choke amongst my self-brooding smoke
Alas
I have succumbed to the ways of the world.

There is always a fork in the road, only one has a star above it

Jim,

I don't know of anyone who wouldn't understand this poem, the good life isn't always the best life.

Enjoyed your work, Thanks
