My Turning Point
18 September, 2003

They sent me on a mission
But the Intel was wrong.
My target that evening
Had been an agent all along.

Undercover for Mossad,
He was an Al Qaeda mole.
How could I have known
He was just playing a roll?

And so I did my job,
What else could I do?
It only took one shot,
My aim was always true.

When the truth was revealed,
I began to lament.
I had taken the life
Of an innocent.

That was my turning point
How I came to believe,
In a chance at redemption,
That faith might achieve.

I no longer pull the trigger,
Though I still do my part.
I've got peace in my mind,
But justice in my heart.

I believe in Jesus,
Because He set me free.
I believe in the Father,
Because He believed in me.

Now I fight injustice,
At home and abroad.
I believe in who I am,
Through the power of God.

I hope my contribution
Makes the world a better place.
And I hope when I am done
I will feel the Lord's embrace.

wonderful

Hey Justus! I love this! I think you have about 100 something poems posted up here, but nevertheless you are blessed! Blessed in the fact that you explain yourself so wonderfully, and write with such feeling!
