The Lord Is My Shepherd
20 April, 2003
Author: Justus Isaiah Richardson
The lord is my shepherd,
My guiding light.
He watches over me
Throughout the day and night.
He';s looking down
From heaven above,
With open arms
For the children he loves.
There has been once or twice,
I've stepped from my path.
But the lord gave me love,
Not the grapes of wrath.
He loves us all,
Even when we fall.
Like a father loves a child,
Even when that babe is wild.
Whatever the life you live,
If you ask him he'll forgive.
When I walk through the valley,
Though I hold my breath,
I will fear no evil,
Nor the shadow of death.
He's here with me.
Where he'll always be.
He will never leave my side.
He will always be my guide.
And we'll never be apart,
While he dwells within my heart.
Well the lord has been there
When I was in need,
Whenever I hurt,
Whenever I bleed,
He comforts me,
Because he loves me.
And if I should ever stray,
His love won't fade away.
With him I can face all odds,
Through the power of God.
