Smiles Of The Past

I used to care
Now I don't
What's the point?
If all I see
is pain all around
Nothing is fine
but no one can see
that I'm empty inside
With nowhere to go
Nothing to see
I wake every morning
and frown because
I'm still here
I wish I could leave
to memories of old
When I used to smile
Used to be happy
but that is
a distant memory
So far away
Yet I can remember
What it felt like
To be happy

I remember

I remember when my smiles used to chase one another. Smile, after smile, after smile.............Everyday I had a smile on my face. I still do, but no as frequent as I used to. Now, I either joke to hide the sadness or just show the real face behind the happy one!
Keith, what a strong point a view about "Smiles of the Past"!!!!
