Friends

vinebar

a friend for the movies
a friend for a tan
a friend for cutting corners
a friend for an accidental jam
a friend for clothing
a friend for stealing yours
a friend for drinking binges
a friend for opening doors
a buddy for you
a buddy for me
a buddy for weed
a buddy who wants to sing
a buddy you want
a few that you don't
a friend without purpose
a friend that will, and one that won't
a friend for hand holding
a friend for good hugs
a friend who will paint your name
on a big blue coffee mug
been done a few favors
been lent many friends
had to learn how to mend them
again and again
not one of em' is perfect
i have faults of my own
but i'd rather live with imperfection
than be left loveless and alone
so give me a friend
i'll buy one down the street
pick one up on the way to
the other one i was supposed to meet
why waste your seconds
breathing on your own
when you can find a friend
and leave your lonely home
