Goodbye

You’ve made me laugh,
You’ve made me cry,
We’ve drawn our path,
With stairs to the sky,
We’re always there,
In times of need,
I would hurt for you,
I would even bleed,
I love you more,
Than words can say,
I’m confused sometimes,
But you lead the way,
Together we cry,
We share our thoughts,
Together we learn,
The lessons we’re taught,
When times get tough,
We stick it through,
No matter how rough,
I’m here for you,
Even when we disagree,
You know we don’t care,
We can both see,
That we’ve got each other there,
I love you I really do,
But I just don’t know,
If everything I’ve been through,
Is enough to let you go,
You’ve hurt me real bad,
Too much which is sad to say,
I loved what once we had,
But today is a new day,
A fight can only last so long,
But a friendship is for life,
Why must you think I’m wrong?
And only think you’re right,
I guess we should say goodbye,
This friendship isn’t right for me,
The stairway we built to the sky,
Is drifting away to be free,
Though our memories will never fade,
And our love will never die,
There is one thing I have to say,
And that, my friend, is goodbye.

A Sad Loss

A great piece of writing Katrina. I completely understand what you are going through, feeling as if given all you can give just isn't enough for that person. Friendship is a great loss.
I really like your poem despite it is about a sad topic.
