Some Things Are Hidden

I once knew a girl who always went with the crowd,
She used to be quiet but then she was loud,
She let the popular kids change who she was,
But what for? I guess just because,
One day I decided to go over to her home,
She was in her room crying all alone,
I ran into her room to see what was wrong,
She said to me she needed to be strong,
Then after that, she pushed me out,
I didn't give up and I didn't have doubt,
So the next day at school I went to her desk,
She was lying down getting her rest,
I talked to her for an hour that day,
She said she felt good in what she had to say,
I listened closely for I knew she hurt,
Everyone else just treated her like dirt,
We talked more and more each and every day,
About all our friends and how they did betray,
We could relate to each other so very well,
But on the outside of her, it's harder to tell,
I thought she was this beast just rude to everyone,
She isn't at all and I think a new life has begun,
I guess no one ever looks too far in,
To find in that person what is all hidden,
Don't judge others before you know them inside,
For they can be different and in them you can confide,
There's a moral to the story as I think you already know,
Don't judge others that you don't even know,
Who they are may surprise you,
Just always be kind to others and stay true!

you have a gentle way w/words

Kit, you really are great w/your words sweetie..i applaud you for another excellent piece of poetry..it is so...true. people are very quick to judge & criticize..plus i must add ...take advantage of.
You young lady have a very compassionate.... heart..
for not giving up...you sensed something was wrong...you brightened up the spirits of another individual...i'm sure you do that in every day life w/o giving it a second thought...the effect of kindness goes along way it stirs out the goodness in people that is hidden and protected....it draws them open to be able to trust another soul...thank you so...much... for sharing such an excellent poem i enjoed readinging it ..Upon one of my front windows i display an old Indian prayer...for myself and for those that approach my front door "GREAT SPIRIT GRANT THAT I MAY NOT CRITICIZE MY NEIGHBOR UNTIL I HAVE WALKED A MILE IN HIS MOCCASINS" Terrie
