A Therapeutic Thought

I write poems usually when I'm sad,
Maybe I'm happy, or maybe I'm mad,
My poems are very therapeutic to me,
They loosen my feelings and let them be free,
I don't share my poems often because they're mine,
Plus they are usually mean and not very kind,
It's nice to write poems instead of talking them out,
Because people tell people, and then your secrets out,
Whether it's a secret, or doesn't matter if it's told,
I like to keep them inside of me so they can't unfold,
Since I have no friends I write a lot more,
Stories from today and stories from before,
Sometimes it's hard not having a friend,
I even sometimes want my life to end,
But I know now that I have so much going for me,
The future will soon unfold and they all will see,
They'll see who I am, a future star,
I'm going to leave this place and make it far,
My old friends may laugh at this dream of mine,
I don't care though, that's just fine,
Make it or not, at least I'm going to try,
Win or lose I'm not going to let the opportunity pass me by,
Everyone has a dream, and they could live it if they please,
But it's going to be hard, you won't make it with ease,
My mom told me, "You can be anything you want to be,"
So I've decided to just be me,
All truth, and a Christian too,
I'm going to work on being me and not being you,
Win or lose I'm still going to try,
No moment is going to pass me by,
I'm doing great, I just better keep on believing,
Nothing is too hard, just deceiving,
Don't be scared of anything, or let anything pass,
Because that opportunity may be your last,
So go out there and give it your all,
You kick that opportunity in the butt and stand up tall,
You better be proud of what you've got,
Because pride is something that cannot be bought!

great poem....yeap i know where your coming from...when i was sad i only allowed one person in on it until he died, after that i was not able to express my feelings or allow anyone to see that but then after some deep thoughts and too much darkness i had to finally open up..i agree w/your mom..you make the life that you want..it is like my job ..i love to spend $$$$ so only i can work the extra shifts or jobs..i get rewarded either way cause i l;ove my job...it keeps me from getting lonely
