Here In This World

Blind in a world where everyone hides
Living in a world where everything dies
Here in a town where everyone kills
Left in a heart that has never been filled.

Brave in a world where there is no hope
Surviving with pride although I loath.
People who care although they hate
Looking inside while behind the gate.

Full of faith in a world of despair
Hopeful in a world where nothing's fair
Believing in people who never change
Loving those who don't know my name.

Breathing although my heart has stopped
Opening up where my soul is locked
Caring for people who turn me away
Praying for hope on my last living day

Although this world is painful and cold
Feeling alone gets so very old
I'd much rather be blind, then ever to see
The world is awful because of people like me.

I'd rather be blind, and always have faith,
I'd rather be breathing behind that gate.
I'd rather be living with compassion and care,
Than admit to myself, that nothing is fair.

I'd rather smile and open up my soul,
I'd rather be alive although my heart feels unwhole.
I'd rather live in a world so wrong,
And encourage my friends to keeping pushing on.

I'm happy, I'm brave, I'm full of life,
although this world may be full of strife,
But that's the way this strange world turns,
And that's a lesson we all must learn.
