Poetry is an expression of a soul through the senses, like a snail trying to interpret this giant world.

Poetry is the struggle out of the darkness, like a proud soldier raising his flag at the battle's end.

Poetry is perpetual; it is an excuse to soar beyond the limits of society, expanding the mind one syllable at a time.

Poetry is the memorable work of an artist that creates a new sense of direction, which leads the reader to a fork in the road.

Awesome poem Laura, your poem is so true. This is exactly the way we all feel as artists of the "Writer's World". Poetry is perpetual it is an excuse to soar beyond the limits of society", I loved that line. You are indeed a poet of poetry. I guess we come from the same perspective, or should I say "fork". Great Job! I honestly loved it!!!

You Give Poetry The Excitement It Deserves!

This is excellent, you give poetry the excitement it deserves although, we as poets, we must write to earn the feeling of its excitement. This is very good. I often feel, well, I know, my words often start off, with no where to go, then, filtered by heart and soul, a path is found, and as you say, sometimes we take ourselves to that, "path in the road." There in lies, the excitement that we find, when we write.

Bravo, that is a good word.
