She walks around with confidence
That noone knows isn't really there
She smiles and holds her head up
Wanting just one person to care
She dresses the best that she can
Never satisfied with the way she looks
And everything she feels is written out
But noone's really read her books
She talks to you with a smile
When she only wants to cry
And life continues to go on
When she only wants to die
And she didn't know it
But the way she is-what's made her her
Has put her on a pedestal
And why she's just not sure
But it's her personality, her attitude
The way she talks, the way she moves
It's her virginty, the way she cares
It's always loving, always being there
It's her beauty that she doesn't think she has
It's the person she is, the one she let's you know her as
She doesn't hide, doesn't put on an act
It's how she doesn't lie, she likes the facts
It's her hopes and it's her fears
It's what makes her smile or burst into tears
It's her soul, it's her heart
That's got her up there, and her smarts
So, she sits on this pedestal
Not really knowing that she's there
She smiles, walks, dresses, and talks
Not knowing that someone actually does care

I liked this poem. I think the greatest people often do not know just how much they are actually cared for.

It's so true. There are so many that feel and act this way every single day. I see parts of myself in it, but also pieces of other people I have known.
Excellent subject and excellent poem.

Thankyou for the comments guys. This poem came up bc one of my friends was talking to me about me and he said i have myself up on this pedestal. And at first i felt a lil offended thinking he meant i was stuck up until he described exactly what he meant...and everything he said is in this poem. Glad u guys liked it.
