Do Not Ask Of Me, Things, That Are In Vain

vinebar

I lay in thirst, upon the burning sand and curse the sun
That dries my soul and burns, deep into my dying, bones
Then, the Sun appears to grow dim, clouds, suddenly appear
As if, a gift has come to me, its, thunder, that brings me to my knees

A wind, begins to blow and lightening, suddenly, shakes my soul
Then a rain, not falling down, but whipped, from side to side
It tries all the strength, I have left inside, I’m cold now, to the bone
Again, I curse, this time, the rain, rain, I had prayed for, its now, all mine

As if, this were, all a dream, I hear these words, from my Lord
“Ask, and you shall receive, in volumes, beyond belief…,
For I am the answer to all questions, ask and I will answer,”
Upon hearing this, I ask for nothing else but, one thing of my Lord

Forgive me Lord, for I unknowingly, jest with your power
Each time I have asked, you have been there for me
Now, I realize, if, I am to survive, I should not ask in vain
For all the comforts that I need, will come if, I believe in your name

Thank you, my little, darling, Leah06

Leah06,

As always, coming back is easy, but, bringing something to the table other than my smileing heart is a bit more difficult.

Thank you for reading this work and I did have YOU, Leaah06, in mind as I was told, to once again, put pen to soul and write. I have read some of your poems, no need to be in a corner because, there is no lite, nor life there and the future is nothing but, dim. Come out into the light, you will be better able to see, what you are in need of, as compared to wishing for!

Sarah, you can write, if, you can feel honesty in yourself.

Sarah,

Thank for your comment. You can write and very well, I know you can. Often, the problem is we try and write a script for our maind and force it you our pen. You can not write other than words with that process. Try this, just wriet about a feeling and let the words flow, this works, don't think about rhyme or spelling at first, then go back and read your thoughts, your words are friends, not strangers, listen to them, now write, what they say! I warn you, prepare for an adventure with three of your best friends, heart, soul and pen!

Martin...

oh wow!!! this was absolutely beautiful & amazing...i applaud you and give ya a standing ovation for such a great piece of inspiration..... applause!!!applause!!!many of us frequent that passage of being on our knees Asking & thanking the Lord for even the simplest things in our life..i for one am just one among many whom the Lord has put his hand on and well....i am not perfect( and he is quite aware of that) but...he has seen me thru many storms ( he must believe in me too) for many things unknown & unmentioned i believe in his word and his name a definite YES..i do...i have encountered my self in situations similar to this ....he always tells me not to give up... thank you for sharing such powerful words...Terrie*

You are blessed! (And everybody on this site is wonderful, except myself)

You are so blessed with such amazing talent! You, Dreamer, as well as Mark Spencer to name a lot (not a few) because there are a lot of creativeness on this poetry site from everyone! I just can't name them all! You have a unique writing style and such encouraging words.
You are very good!!!!!
