Thin Black Line

Just, a thin, black line, yet, it can take your breath away
Fill your heart with joy, put a smile, upon a tear
Or bring your farthest dream so near
That you can see and feel it’s beauty, like a summer day

Its a thin, black line, that connects the heart, soul and mind
Once the three, become one, the spirit…, is free to flow
Tying together, emotions, revelations, and secrets that
We never told before, now, we shout out loud
A trail of courage, blazed, only by the brave

Without hesitation, sometimes, with no direction
We open up and share, our most, trying experience
I am freedom, no prison captures me, even though, I’m doing time
My spirit’s free and flies, within, that thin, black line

We leave our memories, and we document them well,
For what we share, before we go, may save
Some other searching sole, from a lonely, hell
From this honest, spirit’s flow
We can warm a life, that before, was cold

What other way, do we have, to share our love?
With others who come after us, they need not, know our name
It is our spirit, they will share, and the truth about our lives
All encased, within, this thin, black line
