Eloping Under Moonlight

Fleeting shadow
seen standing
silent under
the moonlight..
stars bright.
Rustling of
trees
the passing
breeze
or is it the
sound of her
hurried footsteps?
crunching
upon
fallen leaves..
to reach
to him
whatever it takes
before dawn
breaks..
The shadows
now two
hand in hand
as they stand
warm embrace
hearts race
listening to their
heartbeats
searching their eyes
to find
vows of devotion
sealing it with
a gentle kiss..
for them
everything is right
as they flee
guided by the
stars bright
and the magical
serene moonlight.
