Lost Love

deep down the meadows overwhelmed by sorrows
lies the lone lover, lies the lone lover.
she was the lady once he loved
serene,limpid eyes,that dazzling countenance.
overcome by grief beyond forbearance.
troubled thoughts so distant
haunts the lover,calm and reticent.
spends dawn and dusk by the side of a river
reminded of her memory forever.
standing silent against the calm waves
he feels like a person lost in a maze.
lost,lost deep in thought
the present has left trails behind the indelible past.
breast he beats in dismay and agony
cursing over and over his ignominy.
past is a distant journey, with future much the same
years spent in solitude, with no one but thyself left to blame.
deep down the meadows, overwhelmed by sorrows
lies the lone lover, lies the lone lover.......
