One True Enemy
16 September, 2003
Author: Pamela O'Brien

I feel it creeping up on me
Sometimes even in my dreams
This lurking, loathed entity
Which is my one true enemy

I cannot escape from it you see
Even though I know it's identity
Because I know eventually
It will only catch up to me

I need to finally be freed
Before the hatred starts to breed
This constant, stubborn enemy
Which is the mirror image of me.

No matter how fast or far you run. Don't turn around because it is you shadow gaining on you.
Greatly enjoyed reading these lines.
