After You

To the one who haunts my memory, this is what time has done to me......

Although I recovered from the ache you left when we threw our world away, there are occasions when I think of you and wonder what we'd say- If you picked up the phone and dialled my number (which yes, it is the same) my knees would buckle at the sound of your voice saying my name again. You have to understand that so many lovers have come and gone, since our fifteen minutes of fame that lasted for seven months. But not one of them even cast a shadow on your everlasting glory or ripped a page from the book of our magnificent love story.....They say 'tis better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. I beg to differ, as my decision to go my own way is to this day, my greatest fault. And so, it has come to my attention that the only way I will ever feel those emotions again is to find your number, dial it and hear MY lips utter YOUR name. Maybe then you can close a door that so long ago, you left wide open. I can only hope that the key is no longer damaged and the lock is no longer broken.

Secret & John

I know we are far apart and you might not completely understand the poems I write without a background check, but this isn't Brian or anybody you know-so don't worry! Just writing feelings about Matthew, the first love that sometimes lingers.
And John, glad you loved the poetic letter so much! It is unusual but also striking I hope :o)
