Beneath the ink that tells my life story
Under the letters that spill my secrets
Hidden beyond the pages of me
That is where I really keep it

In the shadows of the sentences I write
Past all of the entries in my journal
Concealed behind the words I babble
There's really just a little girl

Amongst the atrokes of the pen I grip
Amidst the scholarship language
Mingling with all of the bookmarks
There stows a soul once damaged

Beneath the ink that describes my experiences
Under the letters of integrity
There is so much more to be read
Hidden beyond the pages of me.
