Hear These Words

My ticket sits waiting on the table.
My ticket out of this routine life I lead.
My ticket to Wonderland.

And all I can think about is you.

I have been dreaming of leaving this place all my life
and going back to where I felt happiest the most.

And I sit here writing about you.

One month before I am about to reach for the unreachable
and become the envy of everyone I know

. And I can't stop picturing you.

I hesitated, anticipated, procrastinated..
. Hoping that you would be mine again
and I would never have to go anywhere
- at least, not without you.
But it never came.

Never.

The words sunk in today when I said
"I may NEVER see him again."

For you are gone and may not return before I take hold of my destiny.
If you can hear me, know that deep in my heart
- I am hoping that YOU are my destiny

sad but in a good way

this really kinda got me all sentimental... maybe for the fact i know what your talking about, and can relate very much to it, or just maybe the way your phrased it... leaving out the word alone "never" ... nice..

Never is Not a Word

Never to me is so much more then a word. It is a threat, a reminder, a shadow of what once was or will be. It is a regret, a tear, a sense of pride, and a strong principle. I figured it deserved an entire line of its own for that reason......
I think I am both angry and delighted with myself at the same time. Delighted because I am pursuing my dreams and venturing where others dare not go. Angry, because I am doing so without the love and support and company of the one and only person who ever encouraged me to do so.
But like my other poem says, Nothing Is Final.....
Thanks Luc
