Unforgiven But Not Forgotten

My breath would still for his self-worth,
Somehow it would only make sense,
The day he has that epiphony,
That points an arrow directly at me,
Maybe it will hurt a little less.

I have seen the worst of him,
But to love someone requires,
Acceptance of the darker side,
Knowing that you too have lied,
To indulge in forbidden desires.

Our dreams are such powerful forces,
Our secrets exposed to our conscious being,
But they tend to mislead,
And make false hope the feed,
The reason my heart is bleeding.

Now I sit here in front of the fire,
That burns just like I used to do,
All alone and miles away,
From the one I let slip away,
With only memories to get through

Please Read This

I wrote this poem a year ago when I was in Ireland and it was written for my first love. It really means a lot to me and I personally think it is my best poem. I just want people to read it and let me know what they think! Feedback is good :o) If you get the chance, please read someof my poems - nobody has commented on any of them except one that was a tribute, and I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I am not a good poet or something....

this IS a good poem

wow, this poem is actually perfect for what i am going through right now. i fell in love with a guy who is in the army...he wants me to move with him 1254 miles away and i don't know what to do...but the only thing i know of that is real is i am so far away, i love him so much, i fear he will slip away. and please don't doubt yourself as a poet, you are what you want to be.

Thanks!

Oh thanks, I know poetry is what you make it, I just like to hear feedback sometimes. I am glad to hear that you can relate, in some ways, in other ways, its too bad that you feel this way. I hope you work everything out :o)
And just as you told me to never doubt my poetry, never doubt your heart. You may get hurt, but thats a risk you have to take sometimes. The fulfillment you'll get from following your heart is much more then the pain you may receive.
