vinebar

i close the blinds-
cigarette smoke,
almost invisible,
swirls and travels
outside
i hear
the sharp chirp of birds
and several cars
as they gurgle and flow
on still lonely streets.
no wind-
a truck clatters and rolls by
and
here i sit,
wakened by a forgotten dream-
while you sleep
while the night lights
slowly go off
one by one.
the coolness of the air
falls upon my skin,
soothes the sweat
of sudden awakening
and now
i watch
pale shadows play and merge
with slow crawling lights
upon my wall.
one window burns with amber gold.
the squawk of a sea gull-
a thousand thoughts-
in the silence everything is moving.
you sleep across the room
so close
we are miles apart.

Deep....

This one sounds like it takes deep thought, and that's what I'm all about. Great poem!

Pondering Red.....

I have got to say, I have never read anyone else's poems that actually take me to a scene so realistic. The way you describe a setting is absolutely phenomenal. You should be a serious writer......
