The Gathering

Here we are, offering our own cups
The concoction of tomorrow's hope
Other have theirs sealed in agony, still held up
Filled with the scripts of yesterday's pain
Mostly have their cups empty, they wait
Waiting, hoping the waiting won't turn to vain

The eyes drank the bittersweet lines
The mind savored the verses
Others cannot cope, begged for time
After time, thinkers mused, the insecure chanted their curses.
