In Silence And Tears

When you left me my dear
I was in silence and tears,
Your goodbye is a knife that pierced my heart
Wounds that I will suffer for years.

The nights will be colder
By my side, without you to cuddle
My lips will be dry
Without your kiss, your lips with mine, meddle
The morning chorus of the birds
Will be a sad song of tomorrow
The fluttering will be unheard
Silence has deafened this heart full of sorrow.

When the foreboding air whispers your name
A weakening spirit inside me, like a quake
Rattles my bones, kneeding my flesh without shame
I am defenseless, my being in the fire of longing left at stake

Memories will haunt me, a captive chained in darkness
Already I am a dying grass burnt by summer
Afraid that I may not overcome the fear
Your footfalls fading, you're gone, alone, I am in silence and in tears.
