The Voice Of The Heart

On the ocean of perplexity
Your heart is a vessel anchored by consternation
Gently swayed, yet halted by doubt
Beseeching softly like a sea wave's glide
Longing to enfold the dusk-sheltered sand
Your eyes are the open windows
Through which every heartbeat echoes
Your soundless scream
Pleading: "Hold me close, keep me near"
Begging: "Can you take away my fear?"

Earnestly I stared into your eyes
Face to face now, we are infants
In this sea of uncertainty
Innocence is our skin
The sole garment of our yearning flesh
Shivering from the cold breath of intimacy
And in the depths of our minds
Our desires resounds:
Will things change?
Will time forge our fate?
Will we be left undone
If you and I, skin on skin, decide to be one?

And still, the questions go on
Like ripples of water
>From the tickling of the rain
After the entwining:
Will you see me differently?
When I will look at you
Will your face cast a different shadow?
After sealing your lips with a kiss

After your hands has caressed my figure
Will our connection be steady
In midst of intimacy, acting so pure,
Or will it be diverse,
At the height of passion,
With our gestures unrehearsed?

Will the tides of our passion
Draw us nearer,
Towards our friendship, fasten our attention
Will the ecstasy and pleasure of the night
In the morning, be of sheer delight
Or stain our friendship, at the birth of sunlight

I want to reach out and come close
Be near you and hold you tight
My heart, already, has crafted a ship
My mind has woven a rope
But the sea is wailing, the tide is high
My mind's rope is strands short of wisdom
In the Ocean of perplexity, I might not cope
My heart's ship is lacking of steel's courage
At the phase of the gush, I might not pass the stage.

Earnestly I stared into your eyes
Face to face now, we are infants
In this sea of uncertainty
Innocence is our skin
Let's clasp our hands
And in our palms let us cup our desires,
Held them tight before depths of our hearts
Together, deeply let us pray
Let the voice of hearts seek
That wisdom and courage be
Clothed to us by the Almighty
From our friendship we may never be astray

Very graphic

Nice poem, verry descriptive and graphic. But that makes it so special. I like it.

I have a short attention span

Haa you know I read all the poem and what stands out is the last line. Our friendship never go astray. That caught my eye. So I guess for me all you had to do was write the last line. Ha Hha good writing the last line wouldn't have meant as much without the rest.Heeee

Nice!

You certainly have a way with words. "My mind has woven a rope-strands short of wisdom" Awesome! I'll have to keep reading this so I can try to fully understand it. Every line has me thinking. Nice poem R.D. Thanks for sharing.

Leah.. well i had to come up with something graphic, as you described it, just so not to be lets say vulgar...heheheh...this was done out of a personal experience

Barb...well, the friendship faced a test...and the last line was a hope against hope...:>

Dino and Elizabeth... thanks you too... i also looks forward in sharing and exchanging thoughts with you...as much as i enjoyed reading your masterpieces....:>

I like these very deep words and will read them many times over for water and love is my sign. You mind is as deep as the ocean and as wide as the horizon

Great poem!

This poem really stood out from other poems I have read. The way you wrote this poem kind of reminds of how my older sis writes some of her poems. Anyway, just so you know this was a great poem....
