Daddy's Little Girl

There once was a girl, let's say she had no name
Her parents always bragged and gave her high acclaim
She made straight As in school, she had so many friends
She never caused a thing, that needed amends
She helped the elderly, she volunteered her work
She was so polite, even to a total jerk
It seemed she was perfect, not a thing went wrong
Still she told herself, she did not belong

She started the drugs, to try and go find
Why she really felt, she was so confined
Mom and dad denied it, she was everything
They saw her as a kid, reaching up to cling
On their shirt to play, like all children do
They really didn't, have a single clue
She was now strung out, and with the wrong crowd
To them she was their kid, and she made them proud

She went to her dealer, late one afternoon
She said she had to leave, he said she could leave soon
He threw her to the ground, and raped her on the spot
She said she would tell, and so she got shot
The police found her, tossed out with the trash
She was set ablaze, most of her was ash
Her ID was stolen, her skin started to curl
Who will inform Dad, about his little girl?

yay!

You are all trying to make my head swell aren't you? :)... I'm just kidding... It was a true story... just thought you all would want to know.

Awesome

This is an excellent poem, one that discribes true lives experiences and facts. So many parents try to hide themselves from the truth of what their child is doing.

Sad

...but totally believable. I love your writing but its scary that so much of the stuff you write about is true

Tricia & Ash

Tricia, I agree with you about the true life experiences depicted in the writing.

Ash, I write about the stuff people don't want you to hear. I've had a dark life, so I choose to show everyone what it feels like to live that life. It will never change.

Thanks for the comments you two.

Woah

Very nice, how you made that true story come alive, honestly, it nearly brought me to tears. Unfortunately, I haven't cried for the longest time, so I really didn't. But anyway, it was very well written, and great job.

CA. :-)
