Could Have Been

Would you miss me, if I was gone?
A lonely man, a useless pawn?
What about another, sunrise or set?
It happens so much, that you forget
The peacful times, where there's no hate
Though for a time we all can relate
To common needs, to desired bliss
We hate each other, what led to this?

Will there be a time, when no one is sad?
All we think about is what we never had
Why's it matter? It won't be ours
Think about the people with emotional scars
That don't have a thing, that steal to live
We're too arrogant, to ever give
Even a little, is that really hard?
We just pass them by and give no regard

I am so ashamed, to be a part of this
A society, that this hate consists
People do not care, when others die
We pay no regard, when little kids cry
Bruises on their bodies, bones crushed to powder
As the victims pile up, their silence grows louder
If we do not change, we will never win
Anything at all, or what we could have been

Your words are true and accurate.

I have personally, seen first person, much of what you speak about here. I never could gain strength from seeing so much pain, nor become so hard due to exposure, that it didn't hurt me deeply, especially, a small child's pain. Yet, as expressed through your words of truth, this pain does exist among us all. You also, give me cause to remember, how many times I saw, the individual, answer another's call for help. Your words are true SEIZURE and yes, there will always be pain. You have a razor's edge within your words, you show us how hate can make every heart bleed. If, my comments don't match your thoughts, so be it, this is what I gained from this work.

Well done, even if I may have missed the overall message, I appreciate this work.

Martin
Thank You

exactly

Martin, you got it on the head. Before when I asked you to not judge people earlier, I only meant not to put words into others mouth you know? Like saying, "you SAID this" as opposed to, "I get this from the work." Hell, I don't even know if I'm making much sense right now. Just know that I am glad you enjoyed the writing and it reminded you of past memories...

I'm also glad you enjoyed the work Kristy. Thanks for the comment. I appreciated it.

Ash, thanks for the comment.

Keila, "continue" to amaze you? So I'm assuming you've read other works by me then? Thanks for the kind words.

Ben, your comments are always appreciated... I read a few of yours today... they are well drafted.
