A Heroless World

What happened to the man, that saved people from drowning?
What happened to the mom, that kept her kids from frowning?
What happened to the police, on September eleven?
What happened to the staircase, that takes people to heaven?
What happened to the soldiers, that faught for our lives?
What happened to the program, protecting batered wives?
What happened to the kid, that lived just down the street?
What happens to the people, that we never meet?

The truth is I don't know, the world's lost it's pride
It seems they only care, if somebody died
Do you really think, good deeds are reported
When to push the news, crime is what's supported
I think that it's sad, we don't care today
We are all caught up in, emotional decay
But what can we do? The world's slowly dying
It will not get better, very few are trying

There once was a time, when people would care
And help out eachother, but now life isn't fair
If you are not strong, you can't hope to live
You are on the street, you have nothing to give
How can life get better? No one gives a chance
They already know you, from a little glance
The nights are so cold, they are below zero
What this world needs, is a f*cking hero

another one

another one of your best poems seizure. i like this one oh so much and i strongly agree with it. truth be told, hell is breaking loose on earth. and maybe news dont talk about good deeds for the fact that there is none.

Weirdly Enough

Strangely enough, I have friends who always lecture me about not knowing whats going on in the world because I never watch the news - and thats exactly why I don't. Excellent words, very insightful, and just to be humorous - how 'bout Spiderman?
LOL, sorry - had to throw that in there.
In all seriousness though, wicked poem.

Very Few

Hey.... Good to see that you havent lost your awesome talent! I do agree with your poem... i wish more had the opportunity to read it... prehaps it could knock some sense into those people that destroy others and dont give a damn. Very few are trying... Sad what this world and it's people are coming to...soon good people of this world will be put on the endangered list. Great to read your work again! take care... keep writing!! All my love....*~Ruth~*

Thanks everyone...

Laura, I'm really glad you enjoyed my work. As long as the stuff reaches even one person, it's all good.

Luc, always offering your good point of views. They are very much appreciated. Also, I read your comment on "More to God." It was appreciated as well :).

Pamela, I thought Spiderman was the shit.

Ruth, glad to see you're still around :). I haven't had much time to write lately.. Hopefully within the next week or so things will die down and I'll have the opportunity to shoot a few more over to Dreamer.

sensitive nice

today was one of those days where you think you're the only one that sees things .But after reading your poem,I see I'm not the only one that sees selfishness in others. no time to help others, Just " hurry hurry my life is more important."Very good poem Seizure.

Lost pride

`The world's lost it's pride' - how true this is. It seems you have to be bad to get into the news these days - where will it all end? Life certainly is not what it used to be. Good poem - good thoughts.

So True

I know what u mean. My grandma is always saying how when she was in her teen years, u could go out, and not even have ti lock ur doors. Now u have to have an alwarm system, stuff like that. And that is true, u dont see sum1 on the news evryday for doing sumthing good, but yet a person, for robbing the local food-mart. Good job
