Lost Years

we cannot change our past...
although it's not too late
to live well to the end...
and change what we call 'fate'

Time slowly slips away...
many regrets have we
would haves, could haves, should haves...
that might have set us free

Be sweet and kind and gentle
to everyone you know...
forgiving, forgetting and nurturing
and your love will freely flow

Don't let the time just slip away...
there's so much yet to do
Then when you finally leave this world
they'll know they were loved by you
