Just A Few

It wasn't long ago
When just a few glances
Of your handsome features
Melted my heart.
It wasn't long ago
When just a few words
From your beautiful lips
Settled my soul.
It wasn't long ago
When just a few moments
Of your presence
Made me feel safe and secure.
But just a few moments ago
You made me feel pain deep inside.
Just a few moments ago
I was sure you were the one.
But just a few moments ago
You changed my entire future.
I can hardly look at you
Without feeling arger arise within.
When just a few moments ago
When I looked into your soft, blue eyes
I'd melt away.
Now, in just a few moments
I'm about to give up
On life as I know it
And start a new.
Give me just a few moments
To cry my last tears for you
And leave it all behind.
In just a few moments
My heart will break again;
But I'll be okay.
For in just a few nevers
I'll stop loving you.
