My Blessings
15 October, 2003

I got in from work early this morn
both my adult kids already off
to their first class of the day

sitting here reminiscing
about the rough roads we crossed
we stood together and came out on top.
I can not believe that I bought our first house

oh yes we had to work hard
we each served as one anothers back bone
our battles started
when my daughter and my son were of a very young age

a world that was so huge
at times I burst out in tears
we had to climb so many hurdles
attack many obstacles

I have no regrets where I'm concerned
for how i had to learn
in order to survive
I put my kids first in the midst of the storm
and above all that exists in human form

they taught me value,
it was a long tempting journey i had no clue
But...I set my goals
set my self as an example for my two
I work two jobs to stay ahead and get us thru
and still enjoy the good ol' life

too many things I took for granted
one of life's lesson with the seeds I planted
I understand very well
I believe God is not through with me yet
I've come to appreciate the little things that often get overlooked

I have learned to move on
I will always miss the love of my life
God has been watching well over us
he has been providing us with our needs

I didn't do too bad in this life
I got me two swell kids when I was my husbands wife
psst......... but I must whisper so my chidren won't hear
my kids will tell you I'm living in the past

they are young adults attending college
even though my baby stands at 5'10 1/2"
my son has to look down to me when he wants to chat
comes from behind and lifts me up
my son is bad...
and my eldest is the same height as i
she was my runt...
i keep telling her she was my first
with her brother it took more time..
i love them both the same

but..'ay to me they will remain my babies..
until the end of my time
I thank God for them and the many blessings that have become a part of my life...
