Disturbed Mind

I can't sleep!
The dark scares me.
The shadows seem to hide
Monsters of my childhood
Coming back to haunt me.
The sounds they make,
Eerie and strange
Like deep whispers
Of the voodoo witch.

The clock chimes one
And it is a long way from dawn.
The shadows grow longer
And I see limbs and fangs
Out to get me.
I now see red eyes
Which I knew belonged to a scarier face.
The scent of blood fills my head,
Makes me cry out for you.

I wish you were here
Beside me now
With your arms around me
To comfort me, to understand
And give peace to this
Disturbed mind.

I know how you feel. Those dark red eyes haunting you at the end of your bed, nobody there to comfert you, shadows seem much larger then they are in reality.
I know how you feel.
