Society's Children are no longer Comfortable
The laws and the rules are a jokers excuse
And in macabre nightmares they live out each day
At night walk the streets in trembling shoes

(*)
Oh yes their freedom does cost
With blood and sensitivity
Values are crossed
No rights are left to you now
The manipulated lies
Heed welfare's call

Wandering around senseless feelings still exist
Shuffling cards, a wild cards been missed
A child has gone postal "Such a nice boy"
What could have happened had they not listened to lies?

You look in the mirror, does insanity stare back
Questioning judgments, of parental stance
Society's children are no longer listening
Rebellious addictions, respect is all lost *

Protecting our children from vicious attack
Backfires the judgments of cradling arms
Difference in generations is understood
While society's children run wild in the streets

Doctor's and counselor's constantly questioning
Maneuvering truths, endless debates
Finally satisfied, they hear what they want
No longer true statements, but the child's off the hook *

Becoming the teachers, the children go on
Sharing their learning, till each families gone
Taken from families they no longer know love
Unconditional virtues the teachers have won

Society's Children are no longer Comfortable
No more dealing with parents, raised by the state
Allowed all the freedoms of deserving adults
They work the system at sanity's cost *

Oh yes the freedom does cost
With blood and sensitivity
Values are crossed
No rights are left to you now
The manipulated lies
Heed welfare's call

------- Author's Notes -------

Sometimes the system fails. When it does, what is the cost? Could it be our futures, our children, that pay the price for a system; longing for job security and a good share of a Federal budget?
