Reality's Children

Yesterday now seems so far away..
What used to matter now matters not
Silicon chips bring her to you
A dream of far off perceptions
Never planning things emerge
Thoughts now bleed from the after light

Realities children take their form
Precious, fears and sacrifice
You know what it means
Only you understand
Faraway land... Not so faraway wife
Something lost along the way..

You run each night to hold close to your dreams
Could it be.. what should have been
Could it be a fallacy
Unfair tricks of life
Your dreams, your fantasies.... all are real
So true

Hushed in silence your thoughts linger
No one sees the truth
Scream out ....heart of misery
Scream out ....love of your life
Scream out ....lust for living
Scream out ...the need for something more

Secrets, Passions,
Lust in hand
Incurable sensations
She takes you farther than you've ever been
She brings you back again, hillsides aflame
Seems too crazy to understand

Realities Children
Kisses daddy goodnight
But restless heart remains undaunted....
The night is yours.. to take back your life

Running back among the silicon chips
Paradise awaits with willing arms
The life meant to be, that something missed
A life that can never be, but always is
Passions afire

You thank your silicon chips
She awaits still
Drawn to you, as you are to her
Your Love and hers mingle
Then realities children take you both back again

Yet knowing Love awaits
Makes all bearable
Returning peace.
Realities Children rest

------- Author's Notes -------

We take what we need in life to get through the days... Stealing only the sweetest of moments
