Rising Star

Rising star on the horizon
Why does it have to be this way
Hanging on to the tail of a dream
Let the future begin again

Holding inside the pain you dissolve
Obsessed with things that were
Holding fast to the mistakes once made
Unforgiving of yourself.. who truly suffers

Do you think your pain hurts him?
Does your suffering make him pay?
Maybe its time to move on
Maybe its time to catch the rising star

Watching your reflection as you waste away
Disappearing in your own sorrow
self pity enveloping the hurt around you
Isn't it time to let it go
So the past was not so good
Why let the present fall by the wayside
Giving up you close off all that's good

Who said that change was easy?
Who said acceptance didn't hurt?
Who said life was always happy?
And who says it has to be this way?

Rising star on the horizon
It's time to move on
Tomorrow is another day
When things won't seem so gray

Taking charge of your tomorrow
Let the past, in the past stay
For tomorrow is a better day
To Catch the rising star on the horizon

------- Author's Notes -------

Putting the past pains back into the past where they belong takes your blinders off so you can see again the light of the future
