I Close My Eyes by Dreamer

I cover you in the languid pools of the sadness
That overwhelm my soul
Darkness forever threatens to overtake all
That was once wonderful
So I close my eyes

I tear at my heart with the memory of you
Releasing the crimson nectar
Of my life's giving force
My eyes wide open to the reality of you
Still I try to close my eyes

A single petal of the rose still holds true
Cradling in the soft folds
A Prayer
Though I know now it is in vain
So again I close my eyes

I watch as the color fades
Dimmer with each passing day
Yet the color of what was will always be
Remembering always
...I close my eyes

I love ur poem
I love this poem, it reminds me of someone that I love that has passed, it may have not been the message you where trying to show, but that is what it showed to me, because I close my eyes when I don't wanna cry and I try to hide the pain, Thank you for writing this, it truely touched my heart

vision becomes very perceptive,...
with our eyes closed Dreamer, i sooo feel these words you share before us i too feel them as Linsey does of a special love in my life that died. one can not ever forget nor replace such i close my eyes my vision becomes very real and intense. love this poem..thank yoou for sharing your heart.
