When This Winter Is Over

I'll sure be glad
when this winter is over
I'm aching for that
warm, bright summer sun
I'm gonna pack it up
when this winter is over
get out on that highway and run

I want to see
My loved ones down in Texas
Maybe catch the
bluebonnets in full bloom
I might even
find a lovely senorita
who will dance with me
beneath the Amarillo moon

I want to stroll
along the lazy, rolling Pecos
like I did
in the springtime of my youth
Where the Southern wind
Blo..o..ows across the prairies
and the air fills your head
like a sweet, Mexican perfume

I'll sure be glad
when this winter is over
I'm aching for that
warm, bright summer sun
I'm gonna pack it up
when this winter is over
get out on that highway....
get out on that highway....
get out on that highway....and run

Put music to this!

I can hear those words in a sing-song way. Is it written as a song, too? It's lovely, well done.

________________________________________________Cheryl, thank you sooo much for your encouraging words, I am happy to know you like this one! And, it's cool that you can hear these words in a "sing-song" way because yes, it is written as a song, too. And I have put music to it! That you sensed it from reading it really does give me a good feeling! Thanks again! ***Ben
________________________________________________ Martin Vann! You were singing as you read this? WAY COOL! If it "sounds" like a song as you read it, that really does, as I said to Cheryl, make me feel good! I really, really do appreciate your comment VERY much. Thank you, Martin! ***Ben
