Independence Day
4 July, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)

Many soldiers have given their lives
All in the name of liberty
So we have our freedoms
And our justice for all

Patriots with dreams of a better place
Have died willingly so that we may live
With the freedoms that now exist
The land of their pain and suffering

Independence day we were free
Of the rule of other countries
Their taxes, laws, and religions
Here a new life was began with freedom

Looking back on their sacrifice
We must never forget to remember, what so many people today forget
Our fathers, brothers and generations that died before for us
As we celebrate our Independence day
