Sometimes the strength is hard to find
Fear overtakes need and desire
To find the reason each day
To fight fire with fire

If only things were different
And not just so darn hard
The unknown scares me
So my life I try to guard

There is a change inevitable
It's waiting round the bend
And if I sit and do nothing
The end, will surely transcend

Yet if I face each day of challenge
A new hope lights my way
Putting faith in a "what if"
My options I do weigh

I know that if there is but a chance
It's worth the pain and fear to try
Once again I push the needle in
And cancer's horror I will defy

risk on a untested drug has its own challenges.

Touching me deeper than I thought anyone could understand
Even now, after reading this poem several times, I still find myself speechless. You have such a way with words and understanding (as though you yourself was facing such a thing. :)

sad!
this poem really got to me cause a few of my family members have died from cancer or are tryin to get rid of it still. and this poem made me think of them all and it hurts me once more. ure a great writer
