My Curse

You tell me you want to see
So I am here to show
My life isn't the beautiful life you pictured
There is so much you don't know
My life is a continuous nightmare
A shadowy city filled with empty streets
The only light is the dying fire
where life and death meets
It is empty with dark decay
No one is ever there
I only wish I could fade away
Alone I walk down blackened city blocks
Looking at faces who seem to care
But remembering they don't
All they ever do is stare
So I grit my teeth and move on
Lying to myself that everything will be ok
Its funny because I want to believe
That I will once again walk in the light of day
That I can escape this prison of dread
To a place without this curse or evil spell
Yet I know I'm stuck to this place
A place I know all to well
