A Happy Daughter
9 January, 2004

A mother's wish for a Christmas day
"Dear Jesus, to you I pray"
A child so happy her smile blinds eyes
"That she no longer feels sad or cries"
A wish that reaches high above the Earth
"To feel this kind of pain is such a curse"
A desperate plea that God will hear
"I just want her to be glad and to never fear"
A thoughtful prayer placed inside a golden book
"We love her very much, her father and I both"
A single raindrop falls from the sky
"To see her so sad kills us inside"
And answers the prayer of the now sleeping mother
Puts a smile on the face and happiness in the heart of her daughter

A Christmas gift God will send
A happy daughter for you
"Amen"
